2022

Leap Biosystems is proud to have been working with Canadian private astronaut Mark Pathy as payload integrators over the last year. Together, we are excited to announce this monumental and historic event, the first privately crewed mission to the ISS!

Leap worked with Pathy and researchers across the country to select and develop research experiments for spaceflight. Later, we training Mark and integrated his robust payload in preparation for his 10 day mission set to Launch 3 April 2022.

Pathy curated his mission science along the theme – Caring for people and the planet - which includes relevant science research through a number of universities and agencies including the Canadian Space Agency, McGill University, Montreal Children’s Hospital, the University of Ontario Institute for Technology, Western University, the University of Calgary, the University of British Columia, Simon Fraser University and the Royal Canadian Geographic Society. Pathy will also engage in outreach activities with elementary schools across Canada working closely with Amateur Radio on the international Space Station (ARISS).

As part of the mission, Leap Biosystems is also announcing the flight of MedChecker(TM), a unique application for use on your smartphone or tablet to scan, recognize, record and track your medications. Pathy will demonstrate the use of this technology on-orbit during his ISS stay.
